Installation

Our teams are all qualified and experienced carpenters.  For exceptional quality, they use traditional decking techniques in constructing your wooden/timber deck.  No corners are cut; the quality and durability of the finished deck is paramount.

• Super-structure installation; gum poles and support beams.

Maintenance

Although the African hardwoods will last for many years in the open environment, it is always advisable to treat the deck from time to time.  There are two traditional treatment options.  Regular oiling of the deck, required approximately every 40 days, and sealing of the deck with a polyurethane based sealant, which should be re-applied approximately every 6 months.

Flooring installation and maintenance

African Decks and Wooden Flooring have access to a wide variety of hardwoods, and the client is spoilt for choice.  All skirting and quarter round is constructed of the same solid timber as used on the floor.  Installation is done on 38x38 buttons, or directly glued onto a screed.  The wood is sanded and then sealed with a tough acrylic that is stain and water?resistant.  Cleaning and maintenance is minimal, requiring only a mop dampened with lukewarm water, and no detergents.  Our skilled teams also provide a repair service for damaged floors, which includes sanding, sealing and restoration work.
